Chinese EV brand Li Auto noticed first-quarter deliveries climbed by 66%.

In March, Li Auto delivered 20,823 vehicles, for a total of 52,584 deliveries in the initial three months of the current year, which is up by nearly 66% from the first quarter of the previous year, 2022.

Xpeng, on the other hand, only delivered 18,230 vehicles in the first quarter, a 47% decrease from the same time a year ago.

However, in March, Xpeng delivered 7,002 vehicles, above the monthly average for the first quarter. Also, the company’s new P7i sports sedan, which debuted in the same month, accounted for nearly half of the sales in the previous month.

Along with Li Auto and Xpeng, Nio, a well-known electric vehicle firm, reported its first-quarter deliveries of 31,041, which are up 20.5% from the previous year. Besides, the company delivered 10,378 vehicles in March.

All SUVs are Li-Auto vehicles; each comes with a fuel tank to charge the battery and an extended driving range. As a result, the business asserted in a press release that it now holds close to 20% of the Chinese market for SUVs priced between 300,000 and 500,000 yuan ($43,674 to $53,674).

In addition, Tesla’s mid-size SUV, the Model Y, goes for between 261,900 and 361,900 yuan, which is more expensive than Li Auto’s SUVs.

On the contrary, Xpeng’s G9 SUV starts at 309,900 yuan.

Starting at 249,900 yuan, the new P7i sedan from the business costs 269,900 yuan when equipped with Xpeng’s assisted driving system for city driving.

The rollout of Xpeng’s assisted driving technology for towns just started on Friday, so as of right now, only Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Shanghai are accessible.

Typically, it has been noticed that the Chinese electric car startups’ delivery figures pale in comparison with BYD (Build Your Dreams), whose several EV models sell at a range of prices.

BYD said it sold 264,647 purely battery-powered passenger cars in the first three months of the current year, which is up more than 80% from the previous year’s record.

On the other hand, hybrid passenger vehicle sales doubled to 283,270 in the first quarter in comparison with the previous year.

Besides, on Sunday, Tesla proclaimed that it delivered more than 422,000 cars worldwide in the first quarter. The company did not break out figures for China, which typically accounts for well over 20% of Tesla’s revenue.
